Sumner Cooperative Preschool is dedicated to enriching the academic and social experiences of young children and providing their families the opportunity to be involved in and learn from their preschooler's education.

Co-op has a high adult to child ratio, which means lots of helping hands and individual attention for each child. (1 adult to 3 children age 19 - 35 months, 1 adult to 5 children ages 3 - 5)

Co-op has excellent teachers who regularly update their knowledge and skills at Bates Technical College workshops and seminars.
Co-op receives lots of support and information from early childhood professionals at Bates Technical College and in the community.

A cooperative preschool is community based. Sumner Cooperative Preschool is a non-profit program run by parent volunteers on a Board of Directors voted in by the parent membership of the school.
