Play Dough

Throughout the year, we will need to have a new batch of play dough at school weekly. Typically, the color and scents (and maybe even glitter) coordinate with the themes our Teachers plan for the classroom. Please be particularly mindful of allergies posted on our kitchen cupboard. Make enough that five or six kiddos could play at once - that play dough table is busy every day!

Each batch of dough is "due" before Monday morning's class, but note that you are welcome to drop it off the week prior to your due date (e.g. when you pick your kiddo up from class on Thursday or Friday) to save yourselves an extra trip to preschool. Please drop off your play dough in a sealable plastic bag.

Parent 1, please plan to provide play dough the 1st and 3rd Monday each month.

Parent 2, please plan to provide play dough the 2nd and 4th Monday each month.

Recipe: Combine in a saucepan 3 cups flour, 1 ½ cups salt, 6 teaspoons cream of tartar. In a bowl, mix 3 cups water, 3 tablespoons oil, and food coloring/kool-aid/essential oils/extract as desired. Stir liquids into dry ingredients (using a hand mixer helps ensure it is smooth). When mixture is smooth, cook over medium heat until a ball is formed. Please make sure it is cooked enough as under-cooked play dough is quite sticky. Remove from heat and knead until smooth and mostly cool. Store in an airtight container.
